What is a symptom of coronary heart disease (CHD)? Pains in chest when exercising.
What is CHD? A type of cardiovascular disease, a group of diseases affecting the blood vessels & heart.
What happens if fat builds up in the coronary arteries? A blood clot can form on the fatty lump, & if this blocks a coronary artery, some heart muscle is starved of oxygen, causing it to die (heart attack)
What does a blood-pressure measurement record? the pressure of the blood on the walls of the arteries.
What causes non-communicable diseases? There isn't one cause - but many risk factors (i.e. lifestyle, family history)
What are some risk factors of CHD Being overweight, smoking, a diet of high-fat, high-salty foods, lack of exercise, high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, & genes.
What size sample is ideal for an accurate test? Large.
When can a conclusion about a sample be applied to the whole population? If it is a representative sample.
What is representative sampling? When types of people in the sample are similar to types of people in the population.
