Dependent Clause -Expresses an incomplete thought
Simple Sentence -Another way of referring to an independent clause
Compound Sentence -Joins two independent clauses with a comma and conjunction, or semicolon -Comma must appear before the conjunction
Complex Sentence -Contains an independent clause and a dependent clause -If the dependent clause appears first, it must be followed with a comma -If the independent clause appears first it should be followed with a conjunction
Compound-Complex Sentence -Contains two or more independent clauses (compound) -Contains one or more dependent clauses (complex)
