Adverse reactions ENDO: Hypoglycaemia Metabolic: weight gain GIT: discomfort, N & V SKIN: rash
Medication/diet interactions use in combination with other antidiabetics can cause hypoglycaemia - alcohol can cause hypoglycaemia - corticosteroids, Beta2 agonists, thiazide diuretics & thyroid hormones can ^ BSL
Education Advise PT to take with food Educate patient about diabetes (exercise, food) and consider referral to diabetes education Education about hypoglycaemia symptoms Instruct PT to drink glass of OJ if they notice signs of hypoglycaemia
