Question Answer
Atomic Structure Atoms consist of a nucleus and a cloud of electrons that move around it. The nucleus contains protons and neutrons.
Proton (+) It is a positively charged particle.
Neutron It is a neutral particle. It is not charged.
Electron It is a negatively charged particle.
Proton Number / Atomic Number You can identify an atom by the number of protons it has.
Electron Number Every atom number has an equal amount of protons and electrons. So they do not have charge.
