What is the purpose of the computer case? It holds everything in the computer together.
What is the purpose of the motherboard? It sends messages to all of the components inside the computer.
What is the purpose of the Processor? Its where all the processes are carried out.
What is the purpose of the Processor? It contains the current task being carried out.
What is the purpose of the Hard Drive? The hard drive is where the data is stored. Where you store images or documents and also to retrieve digital information using more than 2 discs
What is a repetitive strain injury (RSI) and what causes them? Usually damage to the fingers and wrists caused by repeated movements over a long period of time.
What is the cause of back injuries when using a computer? Usually due to poor posture or sitting in an awkward position when using a computer.
What is eye strain and what is the cause? Usually caused by staring at a computer screen for a long time. Particularly in poor light, in glare or with a flickering screen.
By law, what do employers have to provide for their employees? (in regards to working with computers) It is now the law that any business makes sure the following are in place for it’s employees: tiltable screens anti-glare screen filters adjustable chairs foot supports suitable lighting workstations are not cramped when working on a computer staff take frequent breaks appropriate eye and eyesight tests by an optician Task
What is the purpose of Binary? The purpose of it is for the computer to store data.
How many bits are in a Binary number It has 8 bits
Know how to convert from Binary to Denary A set number and then add numbers up to create that particular number so the opposite of that for denary
What devices do you need to connect to the internet? You need a PC, Network interface cards, modem and router.
What is the purpose of ROM? Stores a program used to boot up the computer. This is called the bootstrap loader
