What is AAMA? What do they do?	The American Association of Medical Assistants is a professional organization that promotes and serves members of the medical assisting profession. They certify CMA's (certified medical assistants) by making them pass an exam.
What is AMT? What do they do?	The American Medical Technologists is a national group for medical assistants that conducts and sponsors 2 certification exams related to MA: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and the Certified Medical Administrative Specialist (CMAS) exams.
What is AAPC? What do they do?	The American Academy of Professional Coders certifies professional coders. They are the largest certifying organization for medical coders. The most common certs they offer are Cert. Prof. Coder (CPC) Cert. Prof. Coder-Hospital (CPC-H) Cert. Prof. Coder-Payer (CPC-P).
What is IAAP? What do they do?	The International Association of Administrative Professionals. They administer cert exams for Certified Administrative Professionals (CAP). They also run The Office Pro publication.
What is AHDI? What do they do?	The Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity is a professional group that has established guidelines for the exams for the Certified Healthcare Documentation Specialist (CHDS) and and Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialists (RHDS).
What was the AHDI formerly known as?	The American Association for Medical Transcription.
What is AHIMA? What do they do?	The American Health Information Management Association is an organization that sponsors 2 coding cert exams: Cert. Coding Specialist (CCS) and the Cert. Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P).
