Cell Membrane Controls what leaves and enters the cells.
Cytoplasm Jelly-like fluid where organelles are found.
Cell Wall The outer layer of a plant cell.
Large Vacuole Space within a cell containing fluid.
Chloroplast The structures in a plant cell that contain the green pigment; chlorophyll, which traps the light energy needed for photosynthesis.
Nucleus Controls the processes that take place in the cell. Contains genetic material (DNA).
Mitochondria Produces the energy a cell needs to carry out its functions.
Vacuoles Stores food, water, wastes & other materials.
Myocyte A muscle cell is a specialized animal cell which can shorten its length using a series of motor proteins specially arranged within the cell.
Nerve Cell Long extensions & branches carry electrical signals from nerve cells throughout the body.
Sperm Male reproductive cell
Root Hair Cells Provides a large surface area for water to be absorbed. They are found in the soil, away from the sunlight.
Leaf Cells Large surface area to absorb sunlight.
