THE ICT SYSTEM KEYWORDS Unit 3.1.1 Lesson 9
INPUT Taking information that is external to the system and entering it into a syatem (this could be a manual or electronic input.) PROCESSING An action performaed on the data.
STORAGE Storage is where the data is held. It may be the data that has been inputted, data required during processing or the results of processng the data. OUTPUT Taking information that was in the system and outputting it. The method used may result in printed output,or on screen,or electronic via disk/CDS.
FEEDBACK Feedback is where the output from the system forms part of the input to the system. Feedback usually applied to real time situations. TURNAROUND DOCUMENTS Turnaround documents are documents that have gone through the system and are outputted (printed by the computer.) Additional data is recorded on the document and this is then inputted intop the system at a later date.
