What is an atom? An atom has a core called a nucleus. it also contains protons and neutrons, as well as having electrons roaming around.
What charge do protons, neutrons and electrons? Protons = Positivley charged Neutrons = Neutral charge Electrons = Negative charge
What is the atomic number of an atom? The number of protons in a atom is the atomic number. There must be the same number of protons and electrons for the atom to be balanced.
What is the mass number of an atom? Mass number = number of protons + number of neutrons
Elements Atomic number- Protons = electrons Chemical symbol Chemical name Atomic weight= Protons + Neutrons
What is an element? An element is made up of atoms that have the same atomic number. it also has protons, neutrons and electrons.
What is a compound? A substance that is formed by two elements that are chemically bound together.
What is a molecule A molecule is a group of automs bonded together.
What is a atom the smallest part of a chemical element that can exist.
