what does transportation do? it moves the rock to another place.
How long does the rock cycle take? Millions of years.
What do volcano erupt? Lava
what are the three types of erosion? Physical- waves, wind, freezing Biological- weeds, burrowing animals Chemical- acid rain, minerals+water
How is igneous rock formed? from magma from the molten interior of the earth erupts and cools to form volcanic landforms.
Example of igneous rock. Granite or basalt
what are rocks on the outside of the earth called? extensive
what is intrusive and extrusive? Intrusive - small crystals (slow cool) Extrusive - large crystals (fast cool)
How is metamorphic rock formed? they are exposed to a lot of heat or pressure causing them to morph into another. They are usually resistant to weathering.
Example of metamorphic rock. Marble, limestone
How are sedimentary rocks formed? the eroded rocks get crushed and crushed and crushed until they form a rock.
