Question Answer
Enzymes Enzymes are biological molecules (proteins) that act as catalysts and help complex reactions occur everywhere in life.
Genetic Engineering Genetic engineering (GE) is the modification of an organism's genetic composition by artificial means, often involving the transfer of specific traits, or genes, from one organism into a plant or animal of an entirely different species.
DNA DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is the hereditary material in humans and almost all other organisms. Nearly every cell in a person's body has the same DNA.
Protein Synthesis t rewrites the sequence of bases of a section of DNA in a process called transcription. mRNA carries the code for building a specific protein from the nucleus to the ribosome's in the cytoplasm. That is, it acts as a messenger.
Asexual Repoduction Asexual reproduction is a mode of reproduction by which offspring arise from a single organism, and inherit the genes of that parent only; it does not involve the fusion of gametes and almost never changes the number of chromosomes.
Sex Chromosomes A chromosome concerned in determining the sex of an organism, typically one of two kinds.
Genetic Disorders A genetic disorder is a genetic problem caused by one or more abnormalities in the genome, especially a condition that is present from birth (congenital). Most genetic disorders are quite rare and affect one person in every several thousands or millions.
Cloning In biology, cloning is the process of producing similar populations of genetically identical individuals that occurs in nature when organisms such as bacteria, insects or plants reproduce asexually.
