Cards in this deck (7)
- 11 Corinthians 15:58Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain
- 2Here are some simple tips to help you learn to take class notes effectively: 1. Date your notes and include the lecture topic at the start to stay organized for exams. This also helps clarify attendance issues if needed, as your dated notes can serve as proof.2.Find a note-taking style that works for you—outline, paragraph, charts, or word maps—for easy organization and future access.
3.Focus on capturing key points and relevant details instead of writing everything your professor says. Your notes should be clear and meaningful for later review.
4.Compare notes with a classmate to ensure you didn’t miss anything important. They can also be a helpful study partner throughout the course.
5.When your instructor uses presentations, note what's on the slides and any additional explanations they provide.
6.Use abbreviations anytime you are able to help you keep up with what is being covered in the class.
7.If a professor says "this is important" or "you will need this later" then it's a good bet that you need to write it down. - 3Decide between handwritten or computer notes based on your learning style and typing speed. Some retain info better by writing, while typing allows faster note-taking. Always check if your professor allows electronics in class. If using a computer, stay focused and avoid distractions.
- 4Learn how to use your preferred note-taking program, like Microsoft Word, before classes start.Set up folders for each course and subfolders for notes, assignments, and study materials. Organize notes by day, week, or topic, and always keep a backup on a USB in case of computer issues.
- 5For handwritten notes,To make studying easier, keep each class's notes separate. Use individual notebooks or sectioned binders for each class. You can further organize with stick-on tabs to mark sections, like weekly notes.
- 6Invest in some colored pensIt may seem trivial, but color-coding different courses or topics can enhance recall for visual learners.
- 7After taking notes, review them while the information is still fresh.Add details and correct mistakes with a single line through errors to keep your notes clear. Note-taking improves with practice, and your efforts will pay off over time.
