What are some alternatives for using pesticides? Behavioral Changes- crop rotation, flooding fields, adjusting plant times Biological controls- Predatory/Herbivorous insects, Genetics and Bioengineering
What is IPM? Integrated Pest Managment - Use of a coordnated suit of tactics to reduce pest abundance.
What are some examples of Integrated Pest Management? Monitoring pest abundance. Biological controls. Manipulation of habitat. (Much preferable to routine pesticide use)
