how do you calculate P(A\|B)?	number of outcomes in ANB divided by the number of outcomes in B = P(B)*P(A\|B)
kidney stones either large or small. large ones are harder to treat if 562 out of 700 treatments are successful what is the estimated success rate?	562/700*100% = 80%
what is the success rate of small stones if there are 315 small successes?	P(S\|small size) = 315/357(total small)*100% = 88%
three runners are competing for first place. how many ways can u win first? second? this is the counting rule	first = 3 ways second = 2 ways 3*2 = 6 posibilities
what are the other two ways to calculate the counting rule?	permutation = N!/(N-n)! combination = N!/n!(N-n)!
