Question Answer
what is a dependent variable? the measured variable.
What are the contact variables? the things that stay the same.
What is the independent variable? The thing that changes.
what does the Stomata do? the Stomata allows Carbon dioxide to enter the cell and oxygen to be released.
how are the palisade cells adapted? they are long and thin so sunlight can pass through.
What is the photosynthesis equation? Carbon dioxide + Water + (sun light &chlorophyll) = Oxygen + Glucose
What is the pressure equation? p= force/Area freestone picks apples
What are ball and socket joints? give one example. joints that allow forwards, backwards and circular movements. example: shoulder
what is a hinge joint? give one example. a joint that allows forward and backwards motions. example: elbow
What is a pivot joint? give one example. a joint that rotates around an axis. example: top of the neck.
What is the respiration equation? glucose + oxygen = carbon dioxide + water +energy
How are bones connected to muscles? Tendons. remember BTM
How to muscles allow bones to move? the muscles work antagonistically. when one contracts the other relaxes so the bones can move.
how are bones held together? Ligaments
what is the only bone in the arm we need to know? Radius
What do you need to make fire? Oxygen, heat and fuel. (remember the fire triangle?)
What is Filtration? separating an insoluble solid from a liquid.
Explain diffusion. When particles move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.
What is the density equation? p= mass/volume (p= density btw, i know weird right!)
What nutrients do plants need? NPK (N: nitrogen p: phosphorus k: Potassium)
Is water denser than ice? YES remember ice is less dense because it floats!
what state has the strongest intermolecular forces? Solid, Liquid or Gas solid, the particles have to be close together so they stay, well, solid.
What is the difference between a physical and chemical change? a physical change is (usually) reversible a chemical change is irreversible.
What units are used to measure pressure? Pa (pascals)
