COMBINATION SQUARE This tool is the most versatile of the square. It Has an adjustable blade and is used for marking and testing 45 and 90 degree angles. It can also be used as a rule and a gauge.
CHALK LINE A chalk line is a tool for marking long, straight lines on flat surfaces, much farther than is practical by hand or with a straightedge.
CARPENTER'S PENCIL is a pencil that has a body with a rectangular shape to prevent it from rolling away. The object of this pencil is to use on rough sawn timber.
ONE METRE FOLDING RULE A rule composed of light strips of wood joined by rivets so as to be foldable. They are used for small works and marking out.
MEASURING TAPE Used for small items for measuring size and length
SAW HORSE Used for supporting lengths of timber that need to be cut and also used to create a bench by placing one or two planks on top.
RETAINING TOOLS - TIN SNIPS Used for cutting straight or curved lines in thin sheet metal such as corrugated iron.
RETAINING TOOLS - FAST CLAMPS A fast clamp is a fastening device used to hold or secure objects tightly together to prevent them from moving.
HANDSAWS Are used to cut pieces of wood into different shapes. This is usually done in order to join the pieces of timber together.
HACKSAW A hacksaw can be used for cutting steel, plastic, fibre cement sheets and hard rubber.
CURVE CUTTING SAWS Are used mainly on thin materials like quadrant moulds, architraves,scotia moulds, plywood and hardwoods, plastics, plaster products and metals.
FILES A file is a steel instrument having its surface covered with sharp edged teeth used for abrading and smoothing surfaces such as metal, wood or plastic
RASPS A Rasp is similar to the file, with coarse teeth. It is used for rapid removal of material generally on timber
SURFORM This tool has a coarse blade and can be used on most materials up to the hardness of timber. The blade is attached to a file like or plane like frame.
SAND PAPER Is a coated abrasive that consists of sheets of paper or cloth with abrasive material glued to one face. Sand paper is used to removal materials from surfaces to make smoother.
SHARP EDGE CUTTING TOOLS CHISELS The chisels primary function is for carving or cutting a hard material such as wood or stone
SHARP EDGE CUTTING TOOLS FIRMER CHISELS The firmer chisel is a medium range chisel which can be used with a mallet as they are stronger and can be used for tougher/heavier work
TRIMMING KNIVES a knife designed for general use; especially a cutting tool with a blade that can be pushed completely back into its handle
PLANES A hand plane is a tool for shaping wood using muscle power to force the cutting blade over the surface of a material.
BORING TOOLS Boring is the process of enlarging a hole that has already been drilled (or cast), by means of a single-point cutting tool. There are numerous kinds of boring tools.
FASTENING TOOLS CLAW HAMMER Claw hammers are used to drive and or extract nails
NAIL PUNCH The Nail Punch is used to drive the nail below the surface of the timber to allow for filling with putty.
SCREWDRIVERS A screwdriver is a tool, manual for turning (driving or removing) screws
PLIERS Pliers are used for fastening, gripping, holding, pulling, twisting and wire stripping.
WRENCHES Wrenches can have fixed or adjustable jaws, and are used for tightening and loosening various nuts and bolts. - Adjustable wrench - Socket and wrench - Spanners (open-ended, ring & Socket)
These tools are used to Break up, trim or cut compacted materials into loose and manageable sizes that can be stockpiled beside the excavation or removed from the area.
SHOVELS The square mouth shovel is best suited to granular materials such as sand or gravel. The round nose is a universal design and performs with materials of uniform or irregular shape or size
DEMOLITION EQUIPMENT Sledge hammer is used to knock out brickwork or break concrete Hammer is used to knock out small areas or used with a bolster to cut or clean bricks and also remover wall tiles.
