Question Answer
JIGSAW A jigsaw is used for cutting curves and for cutting out holes or stencils.
CIRCULAR SAW Hand-held, electric circular saw designed for cutting wood, but may be used for cutting other materials with different blades. Circular saws can be either left or right-handed, depending on the side of the blade where the motor sits.
RECIPROCATING SAW The reciprocating saw is a popular tool used by many window fitters, construction workers and emergency rescue services. Variants and accessories are available for specialized uses, such as clamps and long blades for cutting large pipe.
DROP SAW A power miter saw, also known as a drop saw, is a power tool used to make a quick, accurate crosscut in a workpiece at a selected angle. Common uses include framing operations and the cutting of molding.
ANGLE GRINDER Angle grinders may be used for removing excess material from a piece. There are many different kinds of discs that are used for various materials and tasks, such as cut-off discs (diamond blade), abrasive grinding discs, grinding stones, sanding discs, wire brush wheels and polishing pads.
JACK HAMMER Used for cutting up existing concrete floors, slabs and rock formations. Also used for excavating concrete encased sewer drains.
ELECTRIC PLANER The portable electric plane is a lightweight planing machine which is mainly used for on-site carpentry work which would be otherwise painstakinly hand planed.
CORDLESS DRILL Available in a range of drill styles generally designed similar to the power screw driver although has a chuck for drilling and also available in an impact drill style.
NAIL GUN Extensively used on site by the carpenter and also the cabinet maker and joiner. This nail gun is used to drive nails into wood or some other kind of material. It is usually driven by electromagnetism, compressed air .
DISK SANDER A sander is a power tool used to smooth surfaces by abrasion with sandpaper. A disc sander is most commonly implemented as a stationary machine that consists of a replaceable circular shaped sandpaper attached to a wheel turned by an electric motor or compressed air.
BELT SANDER Belt sanders can have a very aggressive action on wood and are normally used only for the beginning stages of the sanding process, or used to rapidly remove material. Sometimes they are also used for removing paints or finishes from wood.
RECIPROCATING SANDERS This sander moves the sanding pad backwards and forwards in a straight line at the same speed as the orbital sander
ORBITAL SANDER The round pad on a random-orbit sander moves in "random orbits," meaning it vibrates in tiny circles, like an orbital finishing sander, but it also spins in circles. As a result, this single compact tool can be used for both stock removal and ultra-smooth sanding.
