What is a tissue? A group of similar cells that work together to carry out a particular task
Give three examples of tissues. 1) Muscular tissue 2) Glandular tissue 3) Epithelial tissue
What does the Muscular tissue do in the stomach? Moves the stomach wall to churn up food
What does the Glandular tissue do in the stomach? Makes digestive juices to digest food
What does the Epithelial tissue do in the stomach? Covers the outside and inside of the stomach
What 5 things make up the digestive system and what are their jobs? 1) Glands- produce digestive juices 2) Stomach- digest food 3) Liver- produces bile 4) Small intestines- absorbs soluble food molecules 5) Large intestines- absorb water from undigested food leaving faeces
