What is the most important macrofauna? Earthworms. They help aerate the soil and their casts add OM.
What are mycorrhizae? They are fungi that form symbiotic relationships with plants. They help bring water and nutrients to plants and in return they get sugars (carbon).
What are actinomycetes? Bacteria that aid in decomposition. They can form either parasitic or symbiotic relationships with plants. Necessary for composting.
Microbes are... Microorganisms that take part in decomposition and nutrient uptake and cycling.
