Postdeterminers: o Cardinal numerals: five, sixteen, etc. o Quantifiers: every, little, few, many, several, (a) dozen
Note?! → Items from a single subclass cannot normally combine e.g. *a his car
→ Definiteness/Specificness: → Most commonly expressed by definite article the and indefinite artice a/an → ‘The’ is used in NPs which ‘define’ a referent e.g. the man → ‘A/an’ indicates that following description is not ‘defining’ in this sense
