1. What is a snake biting it's own tail called and what does this symbolise? Ouroboros or the "King Snake" symbolises the eternal return and the continual regeneration of life.
What used to be believed about time, and what did Christianity replace this with? Pagans believed that every 15,000 years the stars would return to their original position and time would reverse, it was on a loop. Christians however had a start point (creation of humanity) and an end point (Day of Judgement).
