Mendel´s Laws
Law of hybrids uniformity or dominance principle
Law of characters segregation
Law of the independent segregation of characters
This law is known as the law of hybrids uniformity in F1 or principle of dominance. Here all members of the F1 filial generation are hybrids they have the same phenotype or heterozygotes and uniforms, as given by the dominant allele, inherited from one of its parents.
The law of independent segregation of characters establishes that alleles in chromosomes of organisms are segregated independently of other alleles. That is, not because the plant has given purple flowers, it must necessarily give green pods. The alleles that give rise to these characteristics don't depend on each other.
Segregation law begins just with the first F1 filial generation. Recall that all organisms of this generation are heterozygous or hybrids, with Cc genotypes. The experiment formulated by Mendel consisted of making crosses of these hybrids isolating one single characteristic; this is known as a monohybrid cross. A monohybrid cross implies that the homologous chromosomes of organisms have a pair of alleles (C and c) in the same locus.
