Flowchart content

  1. Notes:

Dominant and ressesive genes= colour of plant, pink=R white=r, all with R will be pink no matter what.

  2. If you breed a white and a pink flower you would get all pink offspring as pink is the dominant gene. They would all be either 'RR' or 'Rr' which still means that the white is the recessive gene and pink is the dominant gene.

  3. If you then bread two of the pink flowers from the same set of offspring you would get 3 pink and 1 white flower as the white ressecive genes skipped a generation of flowers, the pattern would be; 3 pink (RR or Rr) and 1 white (rr)

  4. This could aso happen with eye colour in humans. Brown= B blue=b, because Brown is the dominant gene and blue is the ressecive gene. If one parent has blue yes and the other brown then the child will most likely have Brown eyes however the next will most likely have blue as it skipped a generation.

  5. If a person has blue eyes and blonde hair then they are made up from the ressecive genes as brown hair is also a dominant gene. Brown=H blonde=h, blonde hair is the ressecive genes as well as blue eyes.
