Combur 10 Test
Urine test strips are used to measure certain constituents in urine wich are singnificant of renal urinary, hepatic and metabolic disorders
- Test Pincipe
- Specific gravity (SG): Detects the ion concentration of the urine. Produce a color change in the indicator bromothymol blue from blue via blue-green to yellow
- pH: the teste paper contain the indicators metnyl red, phenolphthalein and bromothymol blue and reacts specifically with H-ions. The most frequent pH values of fresh urine from helthy subjects lie between 5 and 6
- Leukocytes (LEU): The test reveals the presenc of granulocyte esterases
- Nitrite (NIT): the reaction reveals the presence of nitrite and hence indirectly nitrit-forming bacteria in the urine by a pin-to-red coloration of the test patch
- Protein (PRO): the test is based on the principle of tthe protein error of a pH indicator. It is particulary sensitive to albumin. An elevated pH (up to 9) does not affect the test
- Glucose (GLU): Is based on the specific glucose-ocidase/peroxidase reaction (GOD/POD method). The test is independent of the pH and specific gravity of the urine and is not affected by the presence of ketone bodies.
- Ketones (KET): Is based on the principe of Legals test and is more sensitive to acetoacetic acid than to acetone
- Urobilinogen (UBG): the test is specific for urobilinogen and is not susceptible to the interesting factors know to affect the Ehrlichs test.
- Bilirrubin (BIL): Is the coupling of bilirubin with a diazonium salt. The pink coloration constitutes a positive, i.e. pathologic result
- Blod (ERY/Hb):the peroxidase-like action of hemoglobin and myoglobin specifically cataluzes the oxidation of the indicator by means of th organic hydroperoxyde contained in the test paper to give a blue-green coloration

Quality control
- The control intervals and limits should be adapted to each laboratorys individual requierements. Values obtained should fall within the defined limits
Storage and stability
- Store de package at 2_30 c. The test strips stable up to the expiration date specified on the box, when stored in the original container. Do not use the test strip after the specified expiration date
