1. many countries like britain got interested in japan

   • they wanted japan to quit seclusion and comerce with them

2. US interest started in 1837

   • first attemts of negociation failed and got beaten up by japanese ships

3. In 8 of July 1853 , commodore perry arrived to talk about the US requests for comercial agreements

   • US warships were coming back the next year to know japan's desition

   • Finally , in March 1854, the Tokugawa shogunate agreed to the Treaty of Kanagawa

6. After all , Japan's policy of seclusion ended for better opportunities to be an international power

7. In 1858 Japan's government signed the Treaty of Amity and Commerce with the US

8. Japan was later pressured by many other many western nations to sign more series of related treaties

9. countries like France , Britain and Russia also signed treaties with japan
