The three C´s

1. Coding

   • This is the tag is attached to a phrase or perhaps a short sequence on the text being analyzed.
     • For example:
       • "Political" since it is mentioned in the text of any political figure.

2. Category

   • This is a grouping that imposes some coded segments so that they can use different data in the analysis.
     • For example:
       • People in public life include those coded as politicians, celebrities or sportsmen, etc.

3. Theme

   • This goes to a higher level of categorization, usually using to identify a major element (perhaps one of four out of five) of your entire text content analysis.
     • For example:
       • The differences between public and private persons.
