1. What is it?

   • The DHCP is a network management protocol that assigns an IP automatically to the devices connected to it.

2. Tipes

   • Manual assignment
     • Manual assignment The network administrator manually puts the IP address of the DHCP client on the DHC server
   • Dynamic assignment
     • Dynamic assignment: DHCP assigns an IP address to the DHCP client for a specified time. When the IP expires, the DHCP client has to return it. If the customer still needs an IP address, they will need to request it again.

3. Where do we use it?

   • -Centralize IP addresses to keep track of networks, their configuration and status
   • -Avoid errors due to repeated IPs
   • -Allows new clients to request an IP address from the server to join the network easily and quickly
