    1. • A model of set of interrelated principles and concepts that explains an organizations complex entities
      1. • General system theory is extremely generic and can be applicable to many different fields

        1. • Over time, system theorist were trying to develop a theory that explained all system across all fields
          1. • In 1936, Ludwing von Bertalanffy developed the general system theory to solve this problem
            1. • The theory was further developed by Ross Ashby in 1995

              1. • Born September 19, 1901 in Atzgersdorf, Austria
                1. • He studied philosophy of science and biology y eventually to study biology at the university of Vienna

                        1. • Born in September 6, 1903 in London
                          1. • He studied and became a doctor at Cambridge University
                            1. • He was President for te society of general system research from 1962-1964
                              1. • Was widely influential in cybernetics, system theory and complex systems
