Classification of bones
1. Long Bone
Longer than they are wider, normally cylinder shape, major role in movement. E.g. Radius, Tibia. etc.
2. Short Bone
Cubical shape. E.g. Carpals, tarsals
3. Flat Bone
Major role in protection. E.g. ribs, sternum, cranium
Irregular Bone
Any bones that dont fit into other categories E.g. Manable, Pelvis
Sesamoid bone
Engulfed in tendon E.g. Patella, Pisiform
