  1. SSUSH4 The student will identify the ideological, military, and diplomatic aspects of the American Revolution.
    1. Given an audio historical reenactment of the Battle of the Cowpens, during the American Revolution, students will compare and contrast Cowpens to three other Revolutionary battles of ther choice, by identifying at least one key difference and one key similarity between Cowpens, each of the other battles, and their historical significance
      1. ACTIVITY 1: Students will listen to a Podcast of the Battle of Cowpens during the American revolution. ACTIVITY 2: Students will conduct group brainstorming sessions to analyze General Morgan's tactics and their historical significance, and the significance of the outcome of the battle of the Cowpens on history. ACTIVITY 3: Students will conduct group briefings on the significance of the Battle of Cowpens on history. Each of four groups will have a different instructional focus. ACTIVITY 4: Students will conduct media research on four battles during the American revolution, using technology of their choice, or written material, in preparation for their lesson essay.
        1. ASSESSMENT: Students will write an essay comparing and contrasting the Battle of the Cowpens with three other battles which occured during the American revolution, in accordance with an assigned rubric.
