1. A play about ambition

2. He is a thane, which is a Scottish Lord

   • He gets the idea that he can be king, after being told a prophecy by 3 witches
     • Note: But to do that he would have to kill the current king, Duncan
     • Macbeth's ambitions override any moral obligations he has
       • Sooooo, he goes and kills King Duncan, to take the throne. Bruh
         • With the help of Lady Macbeth who covers his tracks
           • She frames it and put the blame on the Guards
         • However, once on the throne, he becomes so paranoid of loosing power, that he starts to have others killed
           • Eg. Banquo - this is because, the witches prophecy stated that his sons would be next in line. Also he suspected Macbeth of the kings murder therefore Macbeth couldn't risk him telling anyone
           • Lady Macbeth then goes insane, killing heself after jumping from the castle. ouch.
             • (Do not jump from castles kids, its bad for your health)
             • Eventually everyone turns on him, even his own army
               • (Advancing as trees)
               • Macbeth is killed in a battle against one of the kings sons (Macduff)
                 • Malcum (Duncans other son) becomes King
         • The kings sons run away: one to Ireland and one to England
