Chapter One.
Range and Domain = All out put and inputs
- 1.7 Getting info. from a graph and linear inequalities.
- Ex. D: [-3,-2], R: [5,2]
- set builder notation: Ex. (-1, 2) --> {xI-1<x<2}
1.9 Making and Using Formulas
- Ex. a^2 -9=0. Ex. PV=nRT Solve for T
1.6 Working with functions (graphs)
- Table of values: (Absolute value= V graph, Squared= U graph, Cubed= half sideways U
1.5 Function Notation
- Ex. f(x)=2x+5 solve f(-2)
- F(x)= -5. Domain= (-infin., infin.) Range= (0, -5)
- Expressing functions: Ex. Subtract 4, then multiply by 8. ----> 8(x-4)
1.4 Def. of Function.
- Identifying which mapping represents a function: Every input has to have 1 output. 2 different inputs can share an output.
1.2 visualizing relationships in data.
- Independent: x-axis, domain, input.
- Dependent: y-axis, range, output.
- Finding Domain and Range from a set of numbers: Ex. D= { inputs from least to greatest} , Range= {Outputs from least to greatest}
