     • Macbeth is having second thoughts about killing king Duncan because theyre cousins, Macbeth is his host and Duncan is a good king.
       • he has conflicting thoughts, shows he is not entirely evil

2. Act 1, Scene 4

   • "stars, hide your fires, let not light see my dark and deep desires"
     • Macbeth is thinking about killing the king so he can claim the throne
       • shows hes become less loyal

3. Act 3, Scene 4

   • "now i am cabbined, cribbed, confined, bound to saucy doubts and fears"
     • Macbeth is suffering from anxiety and paranoia
       • since killing duncan hes become les confident about his power
   • "i am in blood, stepped in so far...returning were as tedious as go o'er"
     • Macbeth realises he is going to hell so he may as well carry on killing

4. Act 4, scene 1

   • "who can impress the forest, bid the tree untie his earthbound roots"
     • he has become more confident after hearing the second predictions

5. Act 5, Scene 5

   • "blow wind, come rack, at least well die with harness on our back"
     • hes hoping to die in battle
       • this shows he is almost like the honourable warrior he once was (1.2)
   • "the fiend that lies like truth"
     • he realised hes been tricked
       • shows hes become a little smarter
