Respiration
  1. Releases energy in living organisms
    1. Aerobic Respiration and Anerobic Respiration
      1. Aerobic
        1. Oxidation Reaction
          1. Produces CO2
            1. Oxygen + Glucose -> Carbon Dioxide + Water + Energy
              1. 6O2 + C6H12O6 -> 6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy
            2. Anerobic
              1. Doesn't use oxygen
                1. Produces Lactic acid
                  1. Glucose -> Lactic Acid + (Some) Energy
                    1. C6H12O6 -> C3H6O3 + (Some Energy)
                2. Experiment
                  1. In two vacuum flasks put one set of killed peas and one set of germinating peas in water. Measure the temperature before you leave them and then after they have been left for a while you take the temperature again
                    1. The germinating peas respire, so produce heat and CO2. This means we expect the flask with germinating peas in to be hotter
