  1. Project Planning

    • Project life cycle
      • Smart Goals
        • Specific
          • In this stage we have to make sure what we are trying to achieve is specific and has all of the necessary details needed to complete/start the project.
          • Who
            • Who is involved.
          • What
            • What will happen
          • When
            • When will this occur.
          • Why
            • Why is it happening.
          • Where
            • Where is it happening.
        • Measurable
          •    Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress on each goal you set. When you measure your progress, you stay on track, reach your target dates, follow plan and stay on time.
        • Achiveable
          • You identify the most important goals for you that you want to become reality and no longer a dream. You’ll develop attitudes, abilities, skills and financial capabilities
        • Realistic
          • are you being realistic. Compare to goals, one is to lose weight this is realistic the other is to explore the universe which may be possible but is realistic.
        • Time Bound
          • What you are trying achieve will have to be done in certain stages that will have certain time bound which you will have to complete in to make the project a success.
      • Initiation
        • Starts with a project manager. The project manager proceeds to fully describe the project scope and prepare the project charter. The phase concludes when the sponsor signs off on the charter, signalling that the project manager may begin the detailed planning work required in the next phase. We find what the project will be used for, what resources where used, what positions were allocated to a team.
        • Input
      • Planning
        • The Planning phase builds on information got in the Initiation phase and is considered the most important phase because this will decide how the rest of the project will go. Project teams often overlook the second phase (planning activities), anxious to begin the development activities of the Execution and Final Evaluation phase as soon as possible.
      • Execution
        • With an approved plan a project can move to the third cycle, execution. This is when the work gets done. To track the work, the team also delivers status reports, monitors and reports on issues and risks, creates change requests, and conducts procurement activities
        • Input
        • Outpu
      • Final Evaluation
        • Where everything gets assessed. The success ability of the product. To track the work, the team also delivers status reports, monitors and reports on issues and risks, creates change requests, and conducts procurement activities.
    • Planning Tools
      • Mind Map
        • This is an effective way to store information which can then be used for revision
      • PERRT Chart
        • A PERT chart presents a graphic illustration of a project as a network diagram consisting of numbered nodes representing events, milestones in the project linked by labelles vectors representing tasks in the project. The direction of the arrows on the lines idicates the sequences of tasks. In the diagram, for example, the tasks between node1,2,4,8 and 10 must be completed in sequence. .
