Joining methods

1. Welding

   • Two pieces of metal are melted along the joints, fusing as the cool. Small filler rod used

2. Soft soldering

   • Joins metal parts together using a lead-free alloy

3. Hard soldering (Brazing)

   • Filler metal, with a lower melting point than that of the material being joined, is melted between the components

4. Rivets

   • Two types: snap and pop. Fitted using a rivet fun from one side of the material

5. Threading

   • The cutting of an external thread in which a screw can fit

6. Tapping

   • The cutting of an internal thread, using a tap wrench
