What Happened?

Azaria's parents, Michael and Lindy, claimed a dingo had taken her from the family tent.
Azaria's body was never found.
The initial coronial inquest supported Mr and Mrs Chamberlain's claim.
Suspicion and rumour quickly grew around the claim, investigations continued and a second inquest was held.
In 1982, Lindy was convicted of murder of Azaria and she was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Michael was convicted as an accessory to the murder and was given a suspended sentence.
In 1986, Azaria's missing matinee jacket was found at the base of Uluru in an area full of dingo lairs.
Lindy was immediately released from prison.
A third inquest was held in 1995 and was it was recorded as an open finding and listed the cause of Azaria's death as 'unknown'.
A fourth inquest was held in 2012 and Coroner, Elizabeth Morris, stated that Azaria Chamberlain had been taken and killed by a dingo.
The 9 week old baby, Azaria Chamberlain, disappeared in the evening of the 17th of August 1980.
On the 17th of August 1980, the Chamberlain family were camping at Ayers Rock in Australia.
