Chicken chase scene

Begins in a favela in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Quick cuts at the start, cutting to the beat of the cultural music. The quick cuts also only allow the audience glimpses of what's going on - there is someone sharpening a knife, someone banging on a drum and also close ups of a chicken that is tied up. The way this scene is editing in the narrative, makes it seem as though the tied up chicken is watching other chickens being killed and this chicken doesn't want to end up like the other ones and so it manages to escape.
At first seems like a friendly, mutual celebration of some sort
Extreme close up on a man (Li'l Ze) who shouts 'fuck, the chicken got away! Go after that chicken, man!' and then we get a long shot of a group of young boys who begin to chase the chicken and casually draw guns from their persons.
