ROM
ROM: is a type of data storage which saves data that is required for the computer to boot up and run
ROM: stands for Read Only Memory
ROM: is long term memory in the computer
there are three types off ROM: PROM EPROM EEPROM
PROM is programmable ROM it can be erased only once with a high voltage machine
EPROM electrical programmable so can be rewritten using UV radiation
EEPROM is basically flash drives in modern day and do not need these machine to rewrite it
RAM
RAM: stands for Random Access Memory
RAM: allows data to be read quickly to run applications
RAM: is short term meorory that deletes every time computer is tuned off
there are two types of RAM static and dynamic
static RAM has more storage and is more expensive
dynamic RAM has less memory and is therefore cheaper
VOLITILE
VOLITILE: is memory that is deleted when power is turned off
NON-VOLITILE: the memory is still stored even when power is turned off
