5. Articles of Confederation (1777) Allowed each and every state its own jurisdiction, independency and power.
6. Slavery and the Constitution (1783) The three-fiths clause addressed that all slaves opinion counted when electoral college chose president
7. Emancipation and Manumission (1783) Constitution prohibited slavery after receiving legal complains from enslaved women and men in Massachusetts. Other states followed the same decision.
8. Thomas Jefferson (1781) Reiterate that blacks were inferior and less intelligence than whites
9. Shays's Rebellion (1787) Farmers suffer from high debts and protest creating resistance movements agains government.
10. Constitutional Convention (1787) Fifty five men review the Article of the Confederation. James Madison was known as the "Father of the Constitution"/
11. Celebrating Ratification (1788) Americans celebrate the unification of a nation honoring the Declaration of Independency every July 4th.
12. Reverend Richard Allen (1794) Founded societies in Philadelphia and Baltimore that formed the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) church.
