Earth history
  1. Fossil Record
    1. Fossil record, history of life as documented by fossils, the remains or imprints of the organisms from earlier geological periods preserved in sedimentary rock.
      1. Stratigraphy
        1. the analysis of the order and position of layers of archaeological remains. the structure of a particular set of strata.
        2. Bombardment
          1. Bombardment is an event that occurred approximately 4.1 to 3.8 billion years ago, at a time corresponding to the Neohadean and Eoarchean eras on Earth.
          2. Layers of the Earth
            1. The Crust
              1. The Mantle.
                1. Convection Currents.
                  1. Outer Core.
                    1. Inner Core.
              2. Geological Time Scale
                1. Absolute Dating
                  1. Absolute dating is the process of determining an age on a specified chronology in archaeology and geology. Some scientists prefer the terms chronometric or calendar dating, as use of the word "absolute" implies an unwarranted certainty of accuracy.
                  2. Relative Dating
                    1. Relative dating is the science of determining the relative order of past events (i.e., the age of an object in comparison to another), without necessarily determining their absolute age, (i.e. estimated age).
                    2. geologic time scale is a system of chronological dating that relates geological to time.
