- Pet Stories: Materials: Paper Photos of Pets Old magazines Pencil Instructions: Children are to bring pictures of their pets. ( If child does not have pet, he/she can cut one out of a magazine.) On a sheet of paper, have children write a story about their pet. Hang the stories with the pictures on the wall at children's eye leveled so children can share their stories. Bag Full of Puppies: Materials: Bag Stuffed puppies 'Bag Full of Pups' by D. Gackenbach. Instructions: Take a bag full of puppies with you to story time. Ask children what they would do with the puppies. Read 'Bag Full of Pups' by D. Gackenbach. Then talk about the jobs the puppies had in the book.Let each child hold the stuffed puppy and tell of the task the puppy may do at his/her home.
