PROBLEMS WITH THE ALESSI JUICER

  1. unstable legs

  2. hard to hold

    • the ALESSI juicer has no area to hold whilst the user is juicing the fruit
  3. no container

    • on the juicer once juicing your fruit there was no where for the juicer to fall into this is a problem as ideally you many have to find a separate container that would have to fit under the ales juicer and be thin enough to fit under the legs. Another problem was that if you did find a container then the unstable legs would knock the container and you would loose your juice
  4. nothing to catch pips

    • due to nothing to collect the pips in the end quality of the juice was found to be poor due to the excess amount of pulp that was left in with the juice.
  5. legs slide and slip on surface of table

    • the legs built on to the juicer show some evidence of design due the the accent that they have been mounted on to the main juicer area. they have been designed to flow upward to prevent the flow of juice down the legs of the product. However the surface area of the bottom of the legs is very small and therefore they are not stable on the surface as they cause the juicer to wobble around when pressure is applied whilst juicing
  6. favours form over function

    • like views demonstrated by certain designers the ALESSI juicer favours form over function causing a problem with the function of the product. As the juicer was designed to look aesthetically pleasing the function has been overlooked and the aesthetics priortiesed so that the juicer looks sleek and modernised with in a home/ kitchen environment
