control measures
- elephone or video call instead of travelling to meeting
- substitute for safer alternative - e.g. plane/train
- avoid unrealistic delivery schedules or appointment times - consider overnight stays
- ensure vehicle maintenance schedules are in place
- ensure vehicles are fitted with appropriate safety equipment - air bags, seat belts etc
- company policy should include driving within legislation and highway code e.g. obeying speed limits
- carry out regular check on driving licences

- possible regular medicals for HGV drivers or high mileage drivers
