   • An organised collection of people, procedures and resources designed to support the decisions of managers

2. Factors of a good MIS

   • Accurate and relevant data
   • Give information when required
   • Be accessible to a range of users (managers)
   • Present the data in the most appropriate form for decision making
   • Be flexible

3. Factors of a bad MIS

   • Complexity of the system
   • Lack of formal methods
   • Inadequate initial anlysis
   • Lack of management involvement in the design
   • Inappropriate hardware and software
   • Lack of management knowledge about ICT systems and their capabilities
   • Poor communications between professionals
   • Lack of proffesional standards
