What kind of media institution might distribute your product and why?
  1. To distribute our production we could...
    1. Promote our film via Social Media
      1. Facebook
        1. Instagram
          1. Twitter
            1. Blog
              1. We could use social media to our advantage as free marketing - we would not have to pay any money for our accounts yet they have the ability to build up large audiences and fan bases. On social media accounts we would post sneak peaks and trailers of the film, turning it into an event creates hype and excitement which would boost audience number. Social media accounts would give us power and access to globalise our production at no extra cost. Social media accounts create a real time dialogue between the audience and the institution leading to a social democracy.
              2. Advertisements
                1. Leaflets
                  1. Posters
                    1. Hand-outs
                      1. Assemblies
                        1. Trailers
                          1. Advertisements such as posters and leaflets would cost money, however they allow the production to be recognised. If the audience are familiar with the posters or adverts as they have seen them around frequently it will persuade them and make them feel compelled to watch the film.
                          2. Contact film distribution companies
                            1. Sponsors for promotion
                              1. As an independant film company we would have to work in synergy partnerships with other companies to achieve levels of vertical integration. For example we would have to work with a distribution company such as Film4 in order for our film to be distributed. We may also have to create synergies with companies that supply props, costumes, makeup or filming equipment.
                              2. Attend film festivals
                                1. Sundance
                                  1. Cannes
                                    1. Berlin
                                      1. Torronto
                                        1. Tribecca
                                          1. Film festivals would be useful to attract a wider, less predictable audience. People who have attended the festival may not have before been interested in the film, however exposing it to a large audience would expand the audience of the film.
                                        2. Films that we researched...
                                          1. Now You See Me
                                            1. Summit Entertainment
