The metaphor reveals Macbeths 'deep and dark
desires' and his paranoia to show the villian that is
hidden inside him
"Is this a dagger i see before me, come let
me clutch the"
In this scene Macbeth hallucinates a dagger to
represent his guilt as he knows that he
shouldn't of commited the treason. This
foreshadows Macbeths downfall at the end of
the play
