2. Edna is an American Woman in a place of Creole culture
  1. Creole culture consists of those of French ancestry, usually of mixed people (European & Black)
Differences between Man & Woman
1. Robert is a young man in the 1800s, free to chase his dreams
2. Americans such as Edna are usually seen to have traits like Robert
  1. Americans are seen as those who chase their dreams, are bold & independent
  2. Edna will most likely not be seen well by the public if she followed the image of an American
