        1. Decision/Compare
          1. Wait/Increment/Decrement/Expression
          2. Manufacture
            1. WOOD
              1. Softwoods: Come from coniferous trees, which can take 30-50 years to reach maturity and are also cheaper than hardwoods.
                1. Pine, Fir + Cedar
                2. Hardwoods: Come from deciduous trees, they can take up to 100 years to reach maturity and grow in warmer climates.
                  1. Oak, Mahogany + Birch
                  2. Man-Made Boards: These are made by cutting up solid wood and putting back in a variety of ways, this provides stronger, more stable and cheaper wood.
                    1. Plywood, Chipboard + Medium Density Fibreboard
                    2. Joining Wood.
                      1. Butt Joint: Simplest of all joints, it is rather weak but can be strengthened by glue.
                        1. Rebate Joint: This corner joint is stronger and more rigid.
                          1. Dowel Joint: This is a butt joint which is strengthened by dowels.
                            1. Halved Joint: One piece of wood crosses the other and are glued together.
                              1. Mitre Joint: Two pieces of wood joined at a 45° angle.
                              2. Finishing Wood.
                                1. Staining - this changes the woods colour but still allows for the grain to be visible.
                                  1. Varnishing - this covers the surface of the wood with a protective coating.
                                    1. Painting - this changes the colour and hides the grain pattern
                                  2. PLASTICS
                                    1. Thermoplastics: These soften when heated and keep their shape when cooled.
                                      1. Polystyrene - cheap and light weight
                                        1. PVC - strong and flexible
                                          1. Acrylic - hard and rigid
                                          2. Thermosetting: These are stiffer and stronger and will not soften.
                                            1. Urea Formaldehyde - hard and a good insulator
                                              1. Melamine Formaldehyde - hard and heat resistant
                                            2. METALS
                                              1. Ferrous Metals contain iron.
                                                1. Cast Iron, Stainless Steel
                                                2. Non-Ferrous do not contain iron.
                                                  1. Copper, Brass
