1. 7.1

   • The planning and production of a theatre show is a very complex task that would normally be carried out by a skilled group of professionals.
     • Much of this planning is not seen by the audience, who are normally only aware of the roles of the actors and performers.
       • Producer
         • The producer controls the finance for the show, as well as finding the actors to perform the show and the other team members that are involved in developing the show.
       • Artistic Director
         • The director is heavily involved in the planning and production of a theatre show an develops the overall programme that is presented by the theatre.
           • This includes the designing of details for lighting, sound, scene changes and other special effects.
       • Stage Management Team
         • The stage management team are responsible for directing each performance at the theatre. They use the notes from the artistic director to manage the timing of the show, as well as communicating with the staff that change the scenery and modify the sound and lighting.
       • Production Team
         • The production team coordinate the staging and technical requirements of the production. They work with the artistic director, the stage management team and the technical department.
       • Technical Department
         • This department is responsible for the safe use of equipment, as well as lighting and sound operators. Special effects such as smoke generators are also controlled by the technical department.
